If character matters, why are Republicans silent when their leaders put forth race-based myths that appeal to the ignorant and uninformed Republican base? Clearly everyone knows that the greatest recipients of welfare in this country are white people, but if you listen to these to panderers, you would think black people are receiving the most welfare benefits. That said, I still wouldn't want to see white single moms and their children denied the help they need to get them through this GWB created economic crisis.
